“ The Tasting Room was an amazing experience for my family. Our server Abby went above and beyond for our table of 5. From being admirably patient with my autistic brother when he was ordering, to overhearing it was my parents’ 23rd wedding anniversary and bringing them a fresh rose. She gave great menu and drink suggestions as well! This last minute reservation turned out to be the highlight of our night. Drinks and food were delicious and served promptly. Even Chef Steve came out and conversed with us for a bit and he seemed super nice. Overall my family and I were very pleased with this restaurant and will definitely be back! ”
“ My two friends and I came for a late dinner and loved it! We had a little bit of a wait, even around 8:30 pm but it was on a Friday so I’m sure that’s expected. The food was delicious and our service was great! Highly recommend the calamari & spinach dip. Lettuce wraps were good as well. I think everything was reasonably priced. We loved our server Abby. She was excellent! ”
“ We are on vacation visiting from Arizona and we were looking for a romantic dinner date and this place was truly amazing. Every aspect of the dining experience was incredible and the portions were generous. Our server Jim was awesome (turns out he once lived in the same neighborhood as us in AZ such a small world). We started off with the calamari and it was wonderful, the way it was cut and lightly breaded, the fresh green onion and peppers, the fabulous sauces, it was perfect. For dinner we had the Kurobuta Pork Chop and Elk Medallions. The flavors were just incredible. Jim is a sommelier and he recommended Orin Swift Cellars 8 Years in the Desert to pair with dinner, it was so good, probably my favorite wine I've ever had. Then we finished off with a delightful creme brulee. I've had many great meals so far but this one was definitely my favorite. If you're ever in Traverse City this is a must visit! ”
“ My husband and I decided to try The Tasting Room after Stella's cancelled on us last minute. We had a wonderful experience and the food was delish! Next time we will come in for drinks ahead of time and enjoy the bar area before dinner. I plan to make reservations at The Tasting Room over Stella's for our anniversary dinner this November. I do wish they seated us more privately since the restaurant wasn't crowded. I feel we were sitting with another family when there was plenty of room to spread us out. ”
“ TLDR: really liked this place- the food and drinks are both good, as well as the service. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a nice bar and an attractive dining area. We didn’t really do much tasting (no flights) but I would love to come back and try some things! The wine list is fairly extensive and the cocktails seems to be nice as well. I tried a GREY LINE (Vodka Cucumber Basil Blackberry Lemon St. Germaine) and really enjoyed it. I’m not a huge fan of cucumber, but when paired with Basil, I can’t get enough- especially when St. Germaine is involved! It was a very tasty cocktail. We ordered S. Pellegrino as well. We must have had speedy service because I just realized I didn’t take a photo of the food menu, so I won’t have super detailed descriptions of that, but I did take photos! I ordered the lobster bisque which had a good taste but was lacking in actual lobster meat, so I’ll have to say was not the best I’ve had, but definitely still good. A couple of us ordered pizza: one of us got a simple pepperoni pizza, and another got one with cherry tomatoes, red onion and chicken. Since I don’t have a photo of the menu, I’m not sure if that is a “build your own” situation or if it was a selection from the menu but either way, everyone enjoyed their pizzas. I got a little bowl of Lobster Mac and Cheese which I thought was very good, and it had a bit more lobster than the bisque. I ended up getting a Creme Brulee for dessert, and although I usually like it a bit more bruleed, the flavor of the creme was pretty divine! I would definitely return if I’m in the area again. ”
“ Our server Lizzie was incredible, everyone's food turned out perfectly and the drinks were delicious and aesthetically pleasing. We love it here. ”
“ The Tasting Room is a short walk off Front Street near the marina. Stopped in for a quick drink and ended up getting food also. Nice new decor. The cocktail menu is actually on tap. Woodfired pizza was very good. ”
“ My wife & I came here for dinner for the first time last night. We started with the beef carpaccio. It was good. My wife had the NY strip & I had the bison ribeye. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. If you want a really good cocktail, I recommend the bourbon apple cider. It’s a pricey establishment, but one that we recommend and will return to. ”
